news and events Sydney hosts the Biggest English Lesson in the world!

March 3, 2016 On February 2016, 3,000 international students from more than 60 countries descended on Sydney’s Bondi Beach and set a world record for the biggest English lesson event ever!

The lesson was led by Australia’s leading English language colleges and educational institutes and the event concluded with a live band to celebrate the success of the event. This initiative was delivered as a partnership between StudyNSW and English Australia - Australia's peak body for the English language sector.

StudyNSW was proud to support the event which was a recipient of funding through Partner Projects initiative in 2015/16. The event was designed to attract global attention to NSW as a top tertiary study destination for international students. Senator the Hon. Richard Colbeck, Minister for Tourism and International Education, attended the event.
